Our characterful, detached two storey Stable Cottage is situated in the corner of our pretty courtyard and has it‘s own small secluded outside seating area. Sleeping 4, the cottage has 1 kingsize bedroom and an adjoining twin room. Access to the adjoining twin room is not suitable to anyone with reduced mobility.

A well equipped, country cottage kitchen/diner with views over the countryside leads into the inviting lounge with a large smart tv. The perfect family friendly base to relax or explore Exmoor, Somerset and the North Devon Coast!

BEDROOM

Stable Cottage has 1 kingsize bedroom and an adjoining twin room. Both bedrooms are in the eaves of the characterful cottage.

Bedroom 1 – King size bed, wardrobe, TV. Access door to bedroom 2.
Bedroom 2 – Twin room with 2 standard single beds. Wardrobe, dressing table.

Please note, access to bedroom 2 is not suitable for anyone with reduced mobility due to the characterful nature of the property. There is a raised 50 cm beam to step over into the room.

Pets

Well behaved pets are welcome by arrangement (chargeable at £20/pet). We recommend a maximum of two medium size dogs for Stable Cottage.

For our four legged friends there is an exercise area and miles of dog friendly walks to explore from the doorstep.

Stable Cottage has two dedicated parking spaces. For additional vehicles please contact us for availability.

					  Lovely location and under new management - Just returned from a wonderfully relaxing 5 nights here in the honeysuckle apartment.  Beautiful location with good facilities and super helpful hosts.  So much to do and see... read more in the local area.  Thoroughly recommend and hope to return.

					  Exmoor National Park for walking, exploring and enjoying. The Pack Horse at Allerford is the place to stay! - The Pack Horse is a truly wonderful holiday destination. Nestled in the heart of Exmoor National Park, there are spectacular walks nearby and further afield. The hosts, Wills and Paul,... read more  welcomed me with fresh homemade scones, jam and clotted cream! There are 5 holiday accommodations at the Pack Horse and I stayed in Honeysuckle which has been recently refurbished to a very high standard. It had everything I could have wanted. I slept so well and woke up listening to the river Aller which runs alongside. 

I was quite nervous booking a solo holiday, but Wills and Paul went out of their way to assist me with local walking groups that I was able to join in with. 

Whether you are booking as a family, a couple, or even solo like me, the Pack Horse and the wonderful hosts will welcome you with open arms.

					  Excellent Accommodation - I recently spent 4 cozy nights at the Packhorse in Jan 2023.  The accommodation was superb.   I had 4 very good nights sleep and was reluctant to... read more leave. Set in a beautiful part of the world with easy access to good walks.  Booking was easy and the establishment is run smoothly and the owner’s friendly.  

I am very much looking forward to my next stay at the Packhorse.
